Lots to do this morning! Dishes need to be washed, Laundry needs to be laundered, Corky needs to wash behind his ears and under his arms, and the house needs to be set up by 8:00 AM so that Max will have a house to tear apart. The garbage also needs to go out to curb this morning cause Monday is garbage pick up day.Somewhere around 8:05 Max watches a Baby Einstein or Sesame Street DVD that he mandatorily (Corky word) has to insert into DVD player. Sometimes I watch and other times I take advantage and do a load of dishes or what not.
By 8:45 at the absolute latest breakfast needs to be prepared. Good thing the kid loves cereal and yogurt or I'd really be up Shit's Creek. Recently Max has taken a liking to eggs but I'm not ready to commit to using the burner before 12:00 PM. Fuck that noise.
There's also the Ever Lovin' Unpredictable Hazel-Eyed Benjamin Clark to factor in. You never know when he's going to decide it's time to eat or when he'll need a mandatory diaper change. The best I can hope for these days is a nice healthy feeding between 7:00 and 8:00 AM or after 9:00 AM. Somedays I win and other days I don't win.
By 9:00 or 9:30 AM Allyson gets up and takes over. She has similar experiences with the kids during my rest period. There's Lunch, shopping, snacks, feedings, feedings, diaper changes and more feedings before Corky's rest period comes to a grinding halt at 5:00 PM.
Then from 5:00 to 8:30 PM we tag team the kids and we still don't stand a chance. From time to time Allyson or I will sneak off and sit down in front of the computer during Evening Doubles, but we always seem to thwart each other pretty quickly.
By 8:30, Good Night, I Love You books are read, diapers are changed, children are bathed, and Max is in bed.
From 8:30 to 10:30 we try to squeeze in a warm dinner, but most of the time Ben mandatorily wakes up for an after dinner, dinner feeding. Usually right around the time we put our food on our plates. From 10:30 till 5 or so I go to work. In August Allyson will start working again. That's when things will get really interesting. I can't really speak for Allyson, but I'm ready for another KID!!!
It is now 7:30 AM and Max is awake. This changes EVERYTHING!
