1959

Friends,
I apologize for not writing a post yesterday. Let me assure that I'm in this for the long haul. Although things have been a little busier at work, and Allyson is becoming more pregnant by the minute, I must confess that the real reason I didn't write a post yesterday or over the weekend is because TV Land is showing the 1959 Season of Bonanza.

People who watch or watched shows like Mash or All in the family can completely understand why I'm so excited. The first 5 years that Bonanza was on the air were the best. And the 1959 season (the first year) was the absolute best. The show was on for 14 years. Golly... Even longer than Friends. Just imagine if Star Trek had been on for 14 years instead of just 3. My life would be so different today.

Another factor that might have contributed to me not writing a post yesterday is the sun. It was in the 80's yesterday and I spent most of the early morning hours debating whether I should go fishing or not. I didn't but I should have. A couple people at work told me it wound up being a real nice day. Too bad.

Well the rest of the week should be good my friends. There are a couple more 1959 episodes of Bonanza on this week, I might go fishing, and rumor has it that it's the Birdman's birthday on Wednesday.

Corky, what kind of fish do you usually catch? I love fishing, but haven't been in a few years now. Bass fishing for Smallmouth was popular where I grew up.

I am a total M*A*S*H-aholic! I grew up watching this stuff with my Dad... after reading this post, I have no doubt as to how he has been spending his week so far... (sigh) lol

I vaguely remember watching Bonanza. I'll have to check out an episode just for you.

Today's going to be the warmest day yet. I'll yearn to be outside while I'm busy working inside.

Thanks for including my blog in you roll!

I have never watched an entire episode of Bonanza.

I haven't been fishing in forever. 45 minutes to the white river and great trout fishing from my house. Only 30 minute to a big lake and all kinds of fishing fun too. I just can't seem to get out there though. I guess I should get my license first though.

I used to have a huge crush on michael Landon as Little Joe. Imagine my surprise to find that most people thought of him as a controlling ego maniac.
Bonanza was never the same again.

I think more shows tend to start at good and get weaker rather than the other way around.

I'm going fishing on Memorial day with all of the UTARDS. They come up from Utah to invade the Idaho Lakes.
SO, we're going to Montana.

Ain't no shame in that game Corky. I never watched Bonanza, but the Mash and All in the Family reference definitely rings true with me.

I haven't been around much lately, either, Cork. I used to watch Bonanza in the early years, it was great! I had no idea it was on that long.

I want to go fishing now! The weather has been perfect here.

Oh no! My gran used to love that show...

Not a big Bonanza fan. Now if it were Green Acres. That would be a different story.

I love Bonanza. And Gunsmoke.

You gotta love this fickle River City weather. It will probably snow at the end of the week! Ha, ha!

I got to go to the ranch where they filmed Bonanza outside of Tahoe and Reno a few years ago. It was very cool. Why can't there be 15 TV Land's all showing out favorite shows???
