Back to Business

Believe it or not, I'm not tired of Turkey and mashed potatoes, or mac-n-cheese, or pumpkin pie yet. Not even close. I think my stomach may be though. I think we should celebrate Thanksgiving 52 Thursdays a year. My stomach does not. My stomach thinks that I should eat tuna fish for every meal for the next year, but my brain says fuck that noise. It's a complete mess I tell ya.

In other news Jr is eating fruit and cereal two times a day and seems to love Bananas. He also likes Peaches and Applesauce. I still love him despite his affinity for fruit. I don't know how I'll deal if he winds up liking vegetables and I'm not talking about the good vegetables like corn and potatoes. I"m talking about shit like Zucchini and lettuce. But hear this! Aint No kid of mine will ever prefer vegetables over meat!!!

Please note: Max does not wear clothes while eating fruit and rice cereal. Just like his dad doesn't' wear clothes while eating steak and potatoes, lobster, or Chef Boyardee. Much easier to clean up that way, that's all.

Thank you for making Corky's Thanksgiving Day/Weekend Comment Parade a smashing success!

Happy Monday!

Not even a bib?

You want him only eatin' meat and potatoes? Good luck with the proctology bills when he never has another bowel movement again.

Tod said...

Turkey and mash with spicy pickle. I could eat it every day, not just on Thursdays!

If you are going to eat naked make sure you know exactly where the forks are before you sit down.

DJ Kirkby said...

I could eat pumpkin pie forever!

fiwa said...

I am not tired of it yet either, but we're gonna have it again for Christmas, so I'm laying off for the time being.

Thank you for my Maxfix. He looks like he's about to throw off fruits and vegetables and go for snackin' on toes. ;)

Max is getting so tall (long - whatever you say when they aren't standing). Anyway, fruits are good! Don't worry though, my kids loved the fruits and veggies when that's all they COULD eat. Now, if it's not a stick or nugget, they aren't eating it.

Jay said...

Do you wear a diaper when you eat too? ;-)

RockDog said...

For me, food simply tastes better when I am half naked.

I don't think it's possible to get tired of mac'n'cheese! Glad you had a good holiday! Max just gets cuter and cuter, I swear....

abbagirl74 said...

Glad to hear you had a good one! Can't wait for Christmas and all of the photos I know you are going to post!

Max is just the cutest baby ever! :)

Does he have an agent yet?

My husband is currently awaiting the paternity results for our son, who HATES meat in all forms.

Unless it's in Spaghetti.

Burfica said...

yeah and the only way to eat bbq ribs is nekkid in the bathtub.

nikki said...

I don't think I could ever get sick of pumpkin pie. With real whip cream.

Biddie said...

LOL at Tod. I just eat TOPLESS, not naked.
That kid is getting cuter and cuter. :)

Tink said...

I'd eat topless if it weren't for all the crumbs. Not that I mind the grit. But I wouldn't feel safe picking them off and eating them anymore.

Nancy said...

cute, cute, cute baby Max!

eating naked, sure, why not?

You said lobster and then I got all flustered.

wowza.

I am a little perplexed by how mac n' cheese has been brought up by many an American blogger as a Thanksgiving staple. This is new to my Canadian self. Although sounds like a good idea!

Cheryl said...

Being a Thanksgiving guest, I only had my own leftovers to eat, baked pineapple. I could eat that every day for a year but I'd weigh 280 pounds if I did that and would need a whole new wardrobe. I can't wait till Christmas dinner.

Mr. Max is cuter every day.

He is getting so big, Corky! What a doll baby!

Glad you had a good weekend. You didn't by any chance go to the "Light Up Louisville" parade, did you? My daughter was IN it!

Have you tried Gerbers sqash? My son loved that stuff.

Heidi the Hick said...

Aw man, I missed the comment parade! I can't believe it!

but as for the whole clothes/ food thing...GOOD CALL! You just get the little fella out of the high chair and straight into bathtub! I can't tell you how many times I wondered if I could just bring the hose into the kitchen and do it that way. Like my kids weren't emotionally scarred enough, having me for a mother!!!!

Melissa said...

LOVE the new Max pic!!! It's way easier to feed babies w/o clothes and just bathe them right after...just wait until he starts spoon feeding himself! Did you and Max partake in any Black Friday shopping? Did you take him out at 4 am to get any good deals?

Christie said...

Clothes are totally over-rated anyway, anytime of day. And I would laugh my ass off if Corky Jr. became a veggie head.

Casdok said...

Hes so cute! Who does he take after?

captain corky said...

Furiousball: I think I saw something about that on HBO's Real Sex once, or twice...

Guilty: It's the only way to eat. ;)

Real Live Lesbian: I've been doing it since I was born, and have always rejected clothes while I'm eating. ;)

Dilling. A bib yes, but only for Jr. :)

Bottleblonde: That just sounds like propaganda from the dairy and produce farmers! ;)

captain corky said...

Tod: I always look both ways before crossing the street! Always have. ;)

DJ Kirkby: My wife loves the stuff, I like chocolate myself.

Fiwa: I'm gonna lay off of the holiday food for a couple weeks too. Plenty of Italian, Japanese and Mexican food to eat in the meantime. ;)

Nikki: LOL That's basically my diet, a stick or a nugget. ;)

Jay: LOL! I should.

captain corky said...

Rockdog: Too true.

Karma: I don't think so either, and I've eaten so much of the shit that my face should be on the cover of the box. ;)

Abbagirl74: I can't wait for Christmas either. ;)

Pissy: Not yet, but we're working on it. ;)

Leighann: LOL, I can see why your husband may have some questions. ;)

captain corky said...

Burfica: That's a good idea... A nice bubble bath and a rack of ribs. ;)

Nikki: my wife loves the stuff. I myself could never get sick of Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I've the exquisite taste of 6 year old. LOL

Biddie: Tod is a one funny guy! I'm always laughing at his jokes. Nothing wrong with eating topless. ;)

Tink: I saw a waterproof bib that has pockets at Babies R Us the other day. It could be the end of all our problems. ;)

Nancy: Thanks. Eating nakes is the only way to go. I would drive that way, but there are laws about that kind of thing. ;)

Dana said...

Awwwww ... Max is just the cutest! And I heart those baby feet!

Eating Naked?? If I had my way life would be lived naked! Clothes are highly overrated!

captain corky said...

Michael C: Lobster with some corn on the cob really would hit the spot right about now.

Princess: Americans eat cheese with everything. We kind of just snuck it in to our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. LOL

Cheryl: I did not bring home enough Turkey. I'm going to make sure that I have plenty of leftovers after Christmas this year. ;)

Thanks!

Hoosiergirl5: Thanks!

I never make it down to those things. I hope you guys had a good time at it. ;)

Enemy: So far Bananas, Applesauce and Pears. Next on our list are Prunes.

captain corky said...

Heidi: Don't worry there's always next time. LOL!

Melissa: No, but we did get him some stuff yesterday including an Elmo that he seems just love.

Christie: Anything is possible. After all, he's my wife's son too. ;)

Casdok: Thanks! In the looks department, mostly mom so far. I'm pretty sure that he has my imagination though. ;)

Dana: Thanks. I agree with you. They're a big pain in the ass except for when it's cold outside, like right now. ;)

Nothing will ever tire me of of Turkey, either.

Unless the fool making it dries it out by over cooking the bird.

But that's different.

Looks like Max is coming along fine. Next year, he'll be eating some of the bird with you. Father and son carnivores.

gawilli said...

Thanks for the Max fix.

I had one that would eat anything, and one the picked at everything. It sure makes dinner interesting. You never know how they are going to turn out. The one that wouldn't eat is a dynamic cook. The other. Well...

oh em geee...

thanks, dude.

Hey Cork, holy crap, I missed out on the T'giving comment fest, so you could technically have added one more to that. I'm so jealous. Oh, and what did you say your address was again? I'm think my next trip down south I'm coming to take Max home with me. Okay? Good, sounds like a plan. (he's so darn cute). You need to start a college fund for him. everytime someone gives you a compliment, add a buck to his savings!

Canadian flake said...

Good grief that boy gets more handsome everytime I see him. I don't blame ya for not dressing him for dinner though...my dear gremlin is 13 and is still a slob when eating..lmao.

Ms. Tuesday said...

lol at the thought of it being easier for Alyson to clean you up after sinner if you dont wear a shirt.....

Aunt Jackie said...

LOL! Well, yes the food is delicious from Thanksgiving. I agree wholestomachly. You get to eat some more on Christmas though!! It's all good :)

Tod said...

Now listen Corky, I've been worrying myself sick at work all day today at the thought of you and Max eating hot food naked.

Don't you know how dangerous that can be? What if you were to drip hot bbq sauce on the little fella?

Or even on MAX!!!

Drumroll...

Chahching!!!!

Emmeline said...

Hahaha, very nice. I personally did not get enough turkey & mashed potatoes to last me. I only took home one measly butter container with leftovers, and it's empty already! :(

OOOOOOOOOH yes, I know what you mean..the mess of meal time!! YIKES!!
good thing the highchair is wipe proof...
ha...he's not gonna like the veggies...the sweetness of the fruit has kickstarted his taste buds to chose hard liquor over wine! :)

Always,
Crusty
wait, that didn't make sense. :)

Bonnie Blue said...

CC, there's a whole load of turkey in my fridge with your name on it if you want it! I think I"m Turkeyed out.

Max looks so adorable and it makes sense to not wear clothes when eating...for him. :) By now I'm thinkin you should be able to eat with the clothes on. Just sayin...also you eat hot food and he doesn't really....so you don't wanna burn something.

whimsicalnbrainpan said...

I agree with your stomach.

Corky Jr. just gets cuter with every pic.

Gina said...

He is seriously adorable.

Alekx said...

Sorry I missed the Thanksgiving comment a thon. I was pretty much hanging out at deaths door, and trying to keep it pushed shut.

I hope you'll forgive me for that.

Ashley said...

For some reason, I do like to eat fully clothed. It seems perilous to eat hot food while naked, though.

Just make sure Max never takes a field trip to the slaughterhouse. Why my 8th grade bio teacher thought that sounded like a good idea is beyond me. I still eat meat, but a few of my friends haven't since 8th grade!

Maddy said...

I never tire of turkey sandwiches with fresh spinach and cranberry sauce. Yum!
Cheers

Josie said...

That really is the world's cutest baby.

I never get tired of turkey either. You'll never guess what my favorite TV snack is. Baby brussel sprouts. Yum. Everyone thinks I'm crazy.

captain corky said...

Eric: I'm gonna fry it out back one of these years. I've never had a chance to sink my teeth into some fried turkey before, but I hear that's the only way to eat it.

Gawilli: I'm a picker too. Maybe someday I'll grow up, but I doubt it. ;)

Dawn: Glad you liked that line. That's what I'm here for. ;)

Terri: We're actually going to set up an account for him this month, and maybe I should go with a dime instead of a dollar. ;)

Flake: He does wear a big though. I don't think it's possible to have to many bibs. That's one thing I've learned so far as a parent.

captain corky said...

Tuesday: Can you picture me with a bib on? ;)

Aunt Jackie: I can't wait to eat, Turkey, open presents, drink eggnog, watch It's a Wonderful Life, drink, eat, eat and drink. That's what Christmas is all about! Right? ;)

Tod: LOL!

Emmeline: That will teach us to go to other people's homes for the holidays. Next year I'm staying home and cooking for 50. ;)

Her Indoors: I may start renting Max out by the hour. A thousand bucks. But trust me he's well worth every pound. ;)

captain corky said...

Crusty: It's a given that he'll prefer hard liquor over wine, but as he gets older he'll appreciate a good bottle of red wine from time to time. ;)

Bonnie Blue: True. I always wear pants when I'm eating soup and food like that. I may rent a station wagon and come up there to pick up the rest of your bird. ;)

Whim: My stomach desperately agrees with you too. ;)

Gina: Thanks. :)

Alekx: Of course I forgive you. I know you'll more than make up for it next time. ;)

captain corky said...

Ashley: We like to drive by the Slaughter house and take pictures of it from the outside. We know that's where the magic happens, and we mustn't ever go in. ;)

Maddy: I wish I had a mound of Turkey right now. It would really hit the spot. ;)

Josie: Thanks!

Brussel Sprouts??? Are those anything like french fries? ;)

I believe in feeding kiddos in the nude, them not me so much easier to clean. Glad ya'll had a great Turkey Day!

So you ARE Australian, then?!!!!

Come round in a few hours and tell me if you'll be in the Aussie Christmas (Virtual) Beach Barbecue ....

eric1313 said...

I've heard that, too. That the three gallon deep fryer is one of the most popular sales items because of turkeys.

I also heard to have a fire extinguisher handy!

I suddenly have an image of you at Red Lobster in nothing but your boxers teaching Junior the fine art of dribbling butter down your chest.

Sorry I've been away....I did this crazy NaNoWriMo hing last month, but I plan to be a regular from now forth...my goal a spot on your roll call.

I tried the "No Clothes while eating Steak" thing in July and they refused to serve me at Peter Luger's.

I very rarely wear a shirt when I eat my Spaghetti-O's though, so I am with you.
