November

Time is really flying this month, isn't it? It seems like just yesterday I was on Stubhub paying, four times the face value, for a couple of Colts tickets for this Sunday's game against the Chiefs. I'm really excited about going to the game and the Colts should crush the Chiefs, but I do have a soft spot for the very underrated head coach of the Chiefs, Herm Edwards. He won me 50 bucks last year. If any of you happen to be watching the game on Sunday keep an eye out for me and Allyson, I'll be dressed like this guy at the game.

Next week is Thanksgiving and I'll be covering that holiday in great detail on my next post. I also have a really big project coming up very soon that I look forward to starting.

Tomorrow I get paid. I plan on paying bills with the money. After that I should have a little left over, and I'll probably buy some food at the grocery store or some bullshit like that. Direct Deposit combined with responsibility has really spoiled all the fun of getting paid. Know what I mean? By the time it comes it's gone and I have no bag of pot.

Today I went outside and took this picture because I think a grey sky is perfect for this time of year. It's not as cold as I would like it to be, but it will be tomorrow. At least that's what a number of online weather services that I check in with daily say. Tonight I plan on winning the Powerball. It only seems fair, and I promise not to turn into a complete asshole if I win. ;)

I mean when I win.

If you do win Powerball perhaps you can then get that bag o' weed.

Good luck with that, sir.

I'll be watching for you on the tube this Sunday. So...what's Allyson dressing up as?

you know if you win that money, not only can you get the ganj, you'll also have this as a food order (when I come hang out)

Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s'mores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap'n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and .... Funyons

I'll probably be watching the game. I keep up with the Chiefs because they are my team's rival! I totally know what you mean about direct deposit. I don't even open the little check stubs they bring me every other Thursday because I know there's nothing in there worth looking at. Direct Deposit definitely simplifies things by eliminating a trip to the bank, but it also takes all the excitement out of pay day.

Hmmm ... I just bought two powerball tickets. I guess they're worthless now. Oh well, I bought a couple of Missouri Lotto tickets too, so I could still win.

I sat in front of my computer this morning trying to decide if I should pick up Brodie Croyle or Kyle Boller for my fantasy team. I decided on Boller, so that combined with the fact that LJ is still hurt means the Colts are free to crush the Chiefs.

Yeah, seriously, I picked up Kyle Boller. I'm THAT desperate! LOL

I know! I am so not ready for Turkey day...

Ah yes, the days before direct deposit and responsibility, when my entire paycheck went to booze, clothes and gasoline, in that order. Those were the days...

What's your big project, is it a work thang?

What? you want it COLDER?

Eat my shorts.

I'm flippin' freezing over here in the UK!

Have fun at the game!

Oh and try to remember us little people when you hit it big.

Responsibility is no fun. I have to pay my real estate taxes tomorrow. I will need a few weeks to recover from that.

I much preferred to drink away my allowance while I was in college. Actually, after college, drinking away my disposable income wasn't so bad, either!

time is flying by. Can't wait till Thanksgiving. What goodies will you have for us?

Oh, Cork....it's posts like these that make me love you so..... ;-)

corky ~ two words: GREEN HOUSE! I wish I lived up that way, I can grow just about anything.

As far as football goes, I'm a Buckeye, and ... UGH!

The pic makes me really homesick for the real weather. I'm sure it's a LOT cooler than it is here. I recommend vodka, tonic, and limes. And if you win the lottery, you BETTER fly me up there so I can start you on a garden and then go kick birdman's ass. ;)

We've got so many direct debits arranged that there is almost no joy left in payday. On the upside though is that everything is paid for and I guess that's a bonus.

jAMiE said...

I hope you win.....no really, i do...can just imagine your post if you do!

Metal Mark said...

The Colts should crush the Chiefs, but they need to settle down. It will be very hard to have to win in New England in the playoffs. Yet it would be almost impossible if they have to win at Pittsburgh and New England.

Casdok said...

Have fun!

Biddie said...

You want it colder? You really miss NJ, don't you?
So, did you win the Powerball? Guess not, cuz you would be buying tickets on the next flight out to see me, right? I mean, of course you would be invited, as a part of Max's entourage.

captain corky said...

Rockdog: Exactly! Before I visit with the tax man I'm going straight to the dope man. Unfortunately I lost last night.

Real Live Lesbian: Allyson is going as a normal Colts fan. I tried to convince her to go as Uhura, but she isn't having any of it.

Furiousball: I didn't win so it looks like we're back to pork grinds.

Emmeline: Every time I see that check stub where a check used to be a tear comes to me eye. ;)

Jay: I lost. But did We win?

captain corky said...

Beader: One week! Better head to the grocery store this weekend. ;)

Fiwa: Gasoline was always last on my list too. A Five dollar bill back in the day = 1.75 for cigarettes and 3.25 for gas.

Pink: It's nice today. In the mid 40's with lost of wind and gloomy looking skies. Just what Corky ordered!

Dilling: When I get out there I would rather visit all those wonderful parks you take pics in. ;)

Hoosiergirl5: One of these days we'll have to get together. ;)

captain corky said...

Whim: I could never forget you guys. Big blog party somewhere when I hit it big. Maybe Vegas, maybe a giant camping trip. ;)

Ashley: I remember searching the couch and my car seats frantically looking for loose change once or twice in my day. ;)

Cheryl: I'll probably make some mashed potatoes for everyone and maybe even some bread. Yummy!

Pissy: Like Chachi used to say, "Wa, wa, wa." ;)

Lady K: Sorry about Ohio. A green house would be sweet though. ;)

captain corky said...

Peggy: True! I don't know if I would ever pay my bills if it wasn't for direct deposit.

Jamie: Maybe next time. I mean... definitly next time. :)

Gina: LOL I feel all warm an fuzzy now Gina. ;)

Metal Mark: I know. At this point I really hope the Steelers beat the Patsies. My hatred for the Patsies is at an all time high!

Casdok: Thanks. I'm pretty sure we're going to have a blast, and we really need to unwind a bit.

captain corky said...

Biddie: Certain aspects of Jersey I do. Today is perfect outside, but it's going to start warming up slightly towards next week and that makes Captain Corky angry! Of course we'd be on our way out. Any friend of Max's... ;)

dawn said...

i hope you win.
maybe, you can buy that lil' meateater a can of spam.

I am a season ticket holder of the Chiefs! Go Chiefs. Now, when you hear the national anthem, make sure you pay close attention to the ending. Have fun!

Corky - have a GREAT time at the game!!!!

Jo said...

Well? Did you win? The Powerball, I mean.

You know, last Friday was my pay day. I have worked there for eight years, and last week, they forgot to pay me. I had to run around town to pick up my pay check because our payroll department is in a different part of down. That made it exciting again. :-)

katy said...

yep getting paid is not much fun these days is it, it goes in the bank and out the back far too quickly, which reminds me of other things oops best stop there then!

Cazzie!!! said...

If you win powerball you have to come here to visit us, and we can tour the country together ad you can have a Summer Christmas :)

captain corky said...

QofD: I could always cut back on some of Jr's food. Who needs dumb old lunch anyway.

Dawn: LOL! Eating a can of spam would be a great way to cellebrate winning the Powerball. ;)

Tink: LOL!

Abbagirl74: Don't worry, I'll be belting it out as loud as I can.

Fake: That makes it completely worth every it. ;)

captain corky said...

Hoosiergirl5: exactly. ;)

David: I love how late Autumn and Winter look.

Kat: Thanks. ;)

Josie: No. Apparently the Lottery doesn't want me to be 100 percent happy.

Her Indoors: Tell me more about these other things. ;)

captain corky said...

Cazzie: I didn't win this time, but Saturday is right around the bend. And I would love to go there someday. The Birdman went once, and had the time of his life.

honkeie said...

I do not even look at it as getting paid. I just pretend it is the day I am allowed to pay the bills so i can eat sleep and not have to live in the street. But I have started squirrling away money for me.....I save up enough to buy beer once a month.....man once upon a time I bought the beer first then the rent....i am so sad now........and one want to join me for a drink?

I know that with my prolonged absence, the U.S.S. Corkyslog felt like a house with all the children gone. For that, I can only offer my most humble apologize, and return, hat in hand, to say that J.J. Abrams made the right decision.

Love the pictures of Max. Keep 'em coming. Oh, and congratulations on ridding your state, and the nation as a whole, of yet another useless, crooked, republican scumbag. There are so many these days...so many...

Alekx said...

my luck is to win the powerball when ever other person in the nation wins and then just get a 5.45 pay day outta it.

Now there's a photograph that reminds me of home! Can anyone remain unchanged if they win? Nevermind it would be fun to find out!

I know what you mean by being tired of pissing all your money away on bills. I can't tell you how annoying it is to have to spend my hard earned money on my monthly midget porn bill.

Crashdummie said...

that basically means u will keep on playing till you win huh... go figure ;)

Going to the Colts game. How cool is that? I sure hope they win, too. It makes for a much happier home.

Now that hits me where it hurts. I understand completely.

That Kirk pic in the link is hilarious, man. You know how to pick them.

I love November gray skies. I hope that your have wonderful time at the football game. Since you have won the PowerBall, you probably have exchanged your tickets for Sky Box seats. Nonetheless, I will be looking for you and Allyson.

yeah flying by.

I'll be in Vegas for my turkey day.

Hope your team wins!

captain corky said...

Honkeie2: I could definitely use one, but then again I could always use one.

Jacqueline: Absolutely! ;)

Palm Spring Savant: Only four days now! Before you know it we'll be talking about the Super Bowl.

Marykay. Captain Corky loves mashed potatoes too. ;)

Burfica: I hope you won, cause I didn't. At least not this time. ;)

captain corky said...

Gawilli: I'm really stoked! We leave in about two hours. Look for me on TV. ;)

Eric: It's tragic, but me and Budweiser are getting by. ;)

MJD: Unfortunately we're driving our Ford Focus to the game. No limo or luxury boxes for us this Sunday. LOL

Guilty: As Americans we've been brainwashed into believing that cold weather and Holidays are synonymous with each other. ;)

Chucky: Sweet! Have a great time and win some money for me. ;)

Well, being in Kansas, I'm supposed to cheer for the chiefs, which I do sometimes. Today I couldn't care less because I love Peyton, so I'd cheer for the chiefs and then be yelling at Peyton for missing his passes. But, it was a close one.

Anyway, I love football.
