Steak

A couple of days ago my good friend Fiwa asked me to post a picture of the place where all the magic happens. Usually it's slightly messier because I actually use this desk. Like this morning for instance, there's a pot filled with Spagettios sitting in between the printer and the mouse pad. Imagine it if you will.

The past four days of my life have been crazy with shopping, eating, visiting, driving, shopping, eating, visiting, and shopping and eating. My Mother and Sister and Father stayed with us this weekend.

In other news Jr started eating Steak and potatoes last week. The doctor said that Max should start out on fruit and rice, but I corrected the quack and kindly told him that my kid wasn't a fucking rabbit, and that under no circumstance was he to eat anything other than animal flesh. In not so many words the Doctor, Allyson, and my Mother told me that I was an asshole.

Everyday is something new with this kid, and it just get more and more incredible. This kid is amazing already.

lmao I am laughing just thinking about this. When gremlin #1 first started on "real" food, the doc suggested carrots to start...which she loved so much I gave them to her daily...

Her little body couldn't handle all the carrots and she actually turned orange...what a good mom I am eh? LOL.

Thanks for the tour. Wow, it's like going behind the scenes at Disney. :)

I was brought up on Instant Smash and Mars bars. It never did me any harm...actually, strike that thought.

next up Max, Funions and pigs in a blanket, then you can have the keys to the Cutlas

Jay said...

He is eating nachos and drinking beer with you on the couch while watching football isn't he? I was at that age. ;-)

kids are amazing and they grow up so fast. I'm glad you are a daddy enjoying the first years; some shy away from that and it's so important to be a part of that.

Spagettios - er what are these?
dont you just love it when they progress, bet when you are spoon feeding Max you open your mouth!

That's where the magic happens? Isn't that a little rough on the back??? Oh...wrong magic...

Thank you for the picture of your desk! I know I'm a freak - I just like to see where you're blogging from.

lol... I love the "deer in the headlights" look on Max's face. Like he's not so sure about this whole solid food thang.

Have a great week -
fiwa

That desk is way neater than I would have thought.

Listen to mothers, mother-in-law and doctor. Your life won't be worth living if the kid gets scurvy.

I like your desk. It's very tidy

I second the steak and potatoes motion. I'm a meat girl myself. :)

He is getting cuter every day.

Anonymous said...

He's got to have a mixed bag 1 can of Spagetti-O's with meatball and one with hot dogs all cooked together. Just like mom used to make.

Burfica said...

Try the sweet potatoes baby food, the face they make is priceless. hehehehe

I just wanna rub his head. hehehehe

dilling said...

maybe a meatloaf and smashed potatoes...that's a lot like baby food texture, isn't it?

Forget those damn quacks. I ate steak, and I turned out fine. A steak eating, hard drinking, shady smoke poet.

Well, I'd say sometimes listen...

Damn, the Lions are starting to make me believe, but this kind of thing has happened before. They get our hopes up, then the Ford family does nothing but sit back and collect money, instead of getting the players needed.

Real Live Lesbian said...

That's some cute stuff right there! Just don't let him cut his own steak, mkay?

Cheryl said...

Fatherhood suits you, I can tell. Your son will be swearing like a trucker before you know it. Kidding. That will take a few years. As always, adorable picture. You must be proud.

Anonymous said...

Why stop at the steak and potatoes, give him a beer too!

Tink said...

Pfft. I bet you cut it up into little pieces for him and everything. Real babies gnaw on a cow!

Anonymous said...

They are pretty amazing. And they grow up soooo fast! I love the way those little fingers curl around the tray. I think you should make yourself a big fat juicy steak! Both of your tummies will be much happier.

Gina said...

He is such a cutie!

Sounds like a very busy, but fun weekend.

Very cute there, little Max!

I have to say that the puffs are high on my recommendation list. They are delicious. I am not overly sure that puffs is the actual name of them. I think that baby food, in general, is disgusting.

Is your beer where the Spaghettios bowl is, too?

Molly said...

Max is amazing and cuter every single day.

LoL that's awesome sir. I like steak!

Glad things are going well for you.

Fake: So far Max likes rice and bananas ok, but milk is still his one true love. ;)

Kat: With the strike it's a good thing I have Max to watch. ;)

Tod: I'm always touched when somebody else get to experience the magic too. It's my favorite part.

PS How are your teeth doing?

Furious: I mangled a Cutlas when I was 18. My father still gives me shit over it.

Jay: No wonder why you turned out to be so cool!

captain corky said...

Terri: I want him to feel as close to me as he does his mother and I think it's working out that way so far. ;)

Her Indoors: It's so amazing and so much fun!

Rockdog: LOL There's lots of viewing pleasure though.

Karma: Thanks. Steak it is and all we can eat! ;)

Dawn: "you will blink and he will be filling your scotch bottle with water to keep it at the same level"

I never did anything like that in the Summer of 1987 when I was 16. LOL

captain corky said...

Nancy: Thanks. He's 100 percent perfect from head to toe.

Guilty: Exactly. What do doctors know anyways. ;)

Jessica: Everyday is a new adventure with this kid.

Enemy: Is this a trick question? I had to double check just to make sure and I think it might be. ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Trap

Fiwa: I think it was a pretty good idea. Max is awfully suspicious of me sometimes. ;)

captain corky said...

Har: We try to keep it this place as clean as we can, but I took this pick right after I had finished cleaning up. ;)

Peggy: Don't worry, I do what I'm told. ;)

Emmeline: I can eat endless amounts of both. Yum!

Birdman: He'll be eating them in no time at all. I just hope he's still not eating them at 37 like I do. LOL

Burfica: I rub his head and his belly all the time. I can't help myself. ;)

Big Pissy said...

Who care about your desk?!?!?

Look at Max's tiny baby feet!!!!

CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!

p.s. You know I love you, right? ;-)

captain corky said...

Dilling: Meatloaf and smashed potatoes make fore a fun diaper! ;)

Eric: At least they're half way decent and I'm actually looking forward to watching them play on Thanksgiving against the Packers.

Real Live Lesbian: Well... Okay. At least not yet. ;)

Cheryl: I'm really enjoying every moment of it.

Nikki: Now that's a good idea. And screw starting him off with something lite! I'm going straight for the Bud.

captain corky said...

Tink: Good point! From now on Max gets a bone instead of a bottle. ;)

Gawilli: That sounds like a great idea! A nice bloody steak always hits the spot.

Gina: It was and I think I'm all caught up on sleep now. At least I hope so. ;)

Ashley: Of course. I wanted to put a small little beer cooler right next to the computer but Allyson vetoed me. ;)

MJD: Do you think he'll grow up to love TV as much as I do? ;)

captain corky said...

Chucky: Thanks pal!

Casdok: Thanks! I really like this particular desk. I wish I could take it to work with me. ;)

Jamie: I think Max is still trying to figure it all out, but food is growing and going on him. ;)

Leslie: That might not be such a bad idea, but me and my wife tend to be pretty lazy at times. ;)

Beader: Thanks! ;)

captain corky said...

Pissy: His tiny feet seem to be a really big hit and of course I love you too. ;)

Captain Corky,

Good call on the steak. All tough kids should be flesh eaters. Shouldn't he be lurking around, looking to pounce on the cat instead waiting on his food in a high chair? Boy's gotta learn to hunt some day!

He's just the most adorable baby! He's going to be a heartbreaker for sure... but what man isn't really in one way or another? ;)

Ahhh magical looking station you have there... for the omnipotent, multi-talented Corky!

whimsical brainpan said...

LOL! Give him time and he'll be doing the steak and potatoes thing before you know it.

It's an honor to be able to see where the magic comes from.

I love that you have dolls, sorry, ACTION FIGURES on your desk. Jay always has about 10 on his desk at work for when his pretending to work, too.

I also love that your son has a perfectly round head. He is too freaking cute!

when he gets to Tequilla and Tacos at 3 am, then you better really worry!

Kelly said...

Awe, he is just too precious. Are you going to teach him to say, "Where's the beef"? :)

marykay said...

He is too cute! Your desk is too clean! I read once baby boys should eat avocado and tofu seriously, not together but it helps to make them smarter not that he needs any help! Maybe on top of the steak...

Alekx said...

Steak and potatoes.
Man I can just imagine the diaper after that jaunt.
hahaha

Princess Pointful said...

He looks a little scared of the steak, Corky!
Or is he scared on the hairy pot of Spaghetti-Os that haven't left the desk?

neroli said...

My Dear Captain, seriously, you are wonderful.
Keep up the good work!

Jerrster said...

haha...There is a new photo of the Maxter every time I get here. Just wait till your second kid gets old enough to compare the thickness of the 1st child's photo albums (stacks in Max's case) to his own. You will hear about it...trust me.

Jo said...

That is officially the cutest baby I have ever seen. :-)

Love your desk. I haven't seen Gumby for ages.

Cool desk..thanks for reminding me that I lost my Gumby guy-did you steal it from me? :) hahaha

captain corky said...

Captn Rob: Good to hear from you chap. We have two cats that Max will be able to practice hunting on in no time at all.

Jackie: I try not to break too many hearts, but there's only one of me. ;)

Whim: Thanks. Ok I guess I can wait till December before he has his first Outback Special. ;)

Blancodeviosa: You know that kind of talk always gets me excited! ;)

Christie: Maybe some day you could bring your dolls over and we could play together. ;)

captain corky said...

Palm Springs Savant: Hopefully that wont be for at least 6 months. LOL

Myutopia: Of course. And I'm also going to teach him how to growl while he's eating steak.

Marykay: Tofu?!? Avovado?!? How dare you use those kind of words on this blog! ;)

Alekx: Nothing my power washer can't handle. ;)

Princess: Nonsense! My little boy loves steak. ;)

captain corky said...

Neroli: Thank you. You keep giving me compliments like that and I might start believing in myself. ;)

Jerrster: I can't help myself. I'm hopelessly addicted to Max. ;)

Josie: Thank you! All book cases and desks should have a Gumby and a Pokey too! ;)

Crustybeef: I promise I have nothing to do with your missing Gumby... ;)

This post is so MANLY. I can almost taste the testosterone, what will all the steak talk and the drill you got sittin' on your printer. Or is that a glue gun for scrapbooking? ;-)
