I'm pretty tired this morning. As a result of being exhausted, I was debating on leaving my last post up on top for one more day, but the show must go on! It's only fair. I mean there's always something poignant to write about, isn't there?
I bet most of you don't remember this gem from Sid and Marty Kroft, Far Out Space Nuts, starring Bob Denver and Wade Phillips. Wade was actually credited on this show under the pseudo-name Chuck Mccan, but all of us Football fans know exactly who Chuck Mccan really is. Also, most people associate Sid and Marty Kroft with shows like Land of The Lost, HR Puff-n-Stuff and even Sigmund the Sea Monster, but not me!
Far Out Space Nuts is truly the best Sci-Fi show of all time. It puts feldercarb like Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and Buck Rogers to shame. Unfortunately, the critics didn't feel the same way about Far Out Space Nuts, and the live action Saturday morning cartoon only lasted 16 episodes (It was probably cancelled by the same fuckers that cancelled My So Called Life). Phillips essentially played the part of the Skipper on this show. The only other thing that really needs to be said about Far Out Space Nuts is that Bob Denver was probably high as a kite while filming all 16 episodes. Man I miss Bob Denver.

I don't remember that show at all, but I do remember all the others. I'm still afraid of sleastacks (or however you spell it)!
Have a good Monday. I'm always exhausted on Mondays.
You won't believe this, but just last week, my most recent ebay purchase arrived...My new DVD 'Saturday Morning with Sid and Marty Krofft.' It has the pilot episodes of: H.R Pufinstuf, The Bugaloos, Lidsville, Sigmund And The Seamonsters, Land Of The lost, The Lost Saucer, and FAR OUT SPACE NUTS.
I haven't even opened it yet. Pufinstuf and Land Of the Lost are my favs, and I couldn't even remember Far Out Space Nuts.
How cool is it to them all on one DVD?
I am SO glad that you decided to post today!
BTW, a Land Of The Lost film is currently in production. Just thought that you might like to know...
Great shows! But I wonder what they were on when they came up with these ideas?
I've not seen this show? Is it on dvd? I'd like to check it out.
I have no idea what in the hell that show is...
You ave just OUT-NERDED me.
Congratulations. ;)
Steve~
I am not sure I really don't remember it but that picture is vaguely familiar. Sid and Marty Kroft should have their own network as far as I am concerned. I love me some Sigmund and some Land of the Lost. There was one with a witch and the phrase "Catch you on the flipside" or I could just be making all that up.
I don't remember this show.
I only remember Land of the Lost and those damned Sleestacks (sleastacks? slesaks? slacks?). I keep waiting for them to show up on Lost, but so far, nada.
I have no idea what ur talking about Corky.
No love on this one today cork. I could be infering all this from the pic and your description but is the plot somthing like those 2 are techs and accidently launch themselves into space and hilarity ensues? This all seems familiar but I could just be messing with my own head.
To be honest with all of you I vaguely remember this show too, but I do know that Bob Denver was obviously type castid and Chuck Mccan did play the Skipper on this show. Since I'm being honest here, Sigmund the Sea Monster was my favorite out of all the Sid and Marty Kroft crap, but I did like Land of the Lost too.
I remember the title of the show, but that's about it.
I was a major fan of "My So Called Life". Awesome Awesome show!
Sid and Marty Kroft scare the crap outta me. I have seen HR Puff n Stuff and I think Sid and Marty were puff n stuff when they came up with this.
Never heard of the show, but that's a pretty big compliment. Good sci-fi doesn't come around often.
BTW, thanks for the link. I've got you on my roll now too.
