The artist currently known as Corky

I love digital photography. Before digital cameras I used to buy those Kodak disposable cameras that took really shitty pictures and made everyone look like they were possessed by the devil. Used to be I only took pictures of people I knew and events that I was involved with. But I've grown as a person and an artist... Now I take pictures of snowy hills, tall buildings and catfish.

Rarely do I waste my time taking pictures of human flesh anymore. I'd rather take a picture of an abandoned Sugar factory. Maybe in a couple of years the factory will mysteriously reopen amd be run by a bunch of Umpa Lumpa's. That would be sweet.

This used to be a sanitarium. While the tour guide was giving the history and the background information about this place I was seriously wondering if people fish off the rocks, how deep the water is, and what kind of fish are caught in East River and the Hudson. Every other town in America has an abandon nut house! I'm more interested in what's going on under the river.

I think that's about it for now. Make sure to check out Saturday Night Live this weekend. Peyton Manning is hosting. He should be able to carry that dreadful show.

Dude! Cool pic of the sanitarium! Very spooky even in the daylight!

SNL is still on the air??? Wow! I heard it died when Eddie Murphy left...

Have a good weekend, Captain!

I know what you mean about the camera. My 12 year old daughter is quite a photographer now, and I can convince her to delete the ones that just aren't quite...um...good. Then with only the good ones left she thinks she's awesome! Actually she does have a good eye. And we have an iPhoto book full of weird pictures.

What if they reopen the abandoned nut house and staff it with oompa loompas? That would be cool!

You need to talk to our friend Biddie about anbandoned nut houses, seriously!

Sweet pics! I REMEMBER Domino sugar! I'd much rather photograph clouds & objects than people. Well, MOST people. Looks like you had an AWESOME trip. When are they re-opening that sanitarium? I'd like to reserve a padded room.

I got my digital camera about a year ago. I love it. I do kinda miss all those pics of my finger though.

Cool sanitarium. Do they give night tours in that place? That would be freaky.

Obviously, I figured out a long time ago that you spell like ass, but I love you anyway.
However, a spelling atrocity has occured here that would have Roald Dahl spinning in his grave:
Oompa-Loompa

And my work here is done...now, I shall leave your blog to go cure heart disease.

Good day sir!

Peyton Manning, huh?
Hmmm. I usually watch Mad TV, but I'll make an exception this week.

Great photos Corky. Digital photography is so cool and one of the best new technolgies ever. It's even better than Playstation2!

Love the photos. The only camera that I use these days is my cell phone. Can't figure out the new technology.
I did spend time at an old asylum. Ok, wait, I was a 'guest' at the puzzle palace, but Hubby and I also spent time at an abandoned one a few years back. Scary shit.

I think the Domino factory is going to turn condo. Everything else in Baltimore seems to be heading that way. The sanitarium picture is awesome!

Nice...
Make sure you take pictures of the baby though...
I suppose if you're into deteriorated objects you could take a picture of his poopy diaper.

Cool pics, Captain. I really dig that sanitorium shot. I can tell you though, the kind of fish they catch in the East River are the kind no healthy person wants to eat.

Great pics! Digital photography is great. How else could I afford to take 79 pictures of Shamu this weekend where none of them were in focus!

Love the pictures. New York, she's so pretty, you don't need people in the pictures. I don't know what's under the river myself. Some scketchy shit one would imagine.

That sanitarium looks awesome. I wish we had some of those around here (Indiana). I also like photographing abandoned things, but around here, it's barns, diners, the occasional industrial building, etc.
