Merry Draft Day

First of all, I'd just like to say that I would rather be fishing then writing this post, but I promised my wife I would do some cleaning today. And since I'm a good husband, instead of spending the day nailing catfish down at the Ohio I'll be walking around the apartment in my boxers scrubbing the toilet, mopping floors and making sure that all allergens from dust mites, pet dander, and pollen are completely eliminated from our home.

So while I clean I guess it's OK if I keep the NFL Draft on as "background noise." This just isn't the time of year to be sitting in the recliner while scarfing down chicken wings and Cheese Doodles. I've got to be constantly moving while I watch. Too much dead time in between picks.

For those of you that have never watched the Draft before, there is 15 minutes between picks, 32 teams and a shit load of rounds. In other works I could very easily sweep and mop the kitchen floor between picks 1 and 2. Would I rather be on the couch drinking beer and staining my clothes for the next two days? Of course. But like I said, this is the wrong time of the year for that kind of silliness.

Jamarcus Russell just went to the Raiders as the number 1 pick in the Draft. Translation: Corky now has 15 minutes to scrub the toilet.

I'm not a big fan of football, but I sure would appreciate any background noise while doing the scrubbing! Hope you got all of 'em allergens and mold!!

Kat: It was a very exciting day. The place is looking pretty good and I'm rewarding myself with a couple of cocktails.

Erika: The first thing we have to do when you come in is create your blog! ;)

Yoda: Welcome aboard! Football is just one of the many things I write about on this blog. I also like to talk about drugs, fast food and fast women.

I was laughing when Mister Golden Boy of Notre Dame didn't get picked until 22nd!!!
:)

Not that I pay attention to that foozball. That's boy stuff.
:)

I can't wait until Pre-Season! WOO!!!
I know, I know... 4 more months.

It just occurred to me that by pre-season you'll have another football fan in your house!
Awww, it's right around the corner, isn't it?!

Alicia: The birth of the kid is going to hold me over until pre-season. ;)

I predict that the Golden boy is going to be terrible. I hate long- haired-dirty-hippie quarterbacks.

Jamarcus? That's a real name?

So I take it that draft day is a big day. For cleaning too.

Emily's not a good batter. She's a good striker-outer so far. I can't imagine the pressure of being new to the game and having everyone watch. I hope for her sake that she gets better.

I could have been at Giants Stadium today watching them draft their next batch of losers but I said no so that I could go to shad fest with a girl that instead picked up a shift at work.
GOD I LOVE BEING BACK IN THE DATING WORLD!

Cindy-Lou: As real as Captain Corky or The Birdman 33 I suppose. ;)

Cheryl: Draft day is very big for us starving football fans. You don't expect me to watch Hockey do you?

You should take Emily to the batting cage. It could help.

Birdman: Where have you been? Hurry up and change, class starts in 15 minutes!

I love football but the draft bores me. I lost my bf to the draft for most of this weekend and it was out anniversary too!

I had to work on Saturday, but kept checking cnn.com and nfl.com every so often to see what was going on.

i watched with rapt attention until pick #9, to see if the dolphins would finally pull the trigger on a qb.

they didn't, and i have to say i'm not convinced brady quinn will be any good.

but ted ginn jr. a top 10 pick?

do you realize that not only did we pass over drew brees in the draft for a cornerback we eventually cut, but we passed AGAIN on him last year in favor of culpepper.

it's the curse of firing don shula ...

it was kind of awkward for quinn. they took him in a private room because it was so embarrassing for him.

I don't see what your so upset about Eric. What's wrong with the 99 year old Trent Green?
