Happy Hour

My weekend officially started two hours ago and it couldn't have come at a better time. I'm exhausted folks. We've been busting our asses for the past few days getting this joint ready for the new furniture that came yesterday. I'm 36 years old and I finally have a couch and a love seat that match. This is what I call a fucking miracle.

So pretty much I'm going to do nothing but sack out today (An old 80's expression meaning relax). Tomorrow Allyson and I go to our first parenting class. The hospital offers 6 or 7 of these classes, and I think we're signed up for all of them. I don't think It's mandatory for me to go to breast feeding 101, but It's definitely a good idea for me to learn how to change a diaper before the kid is born. This much I realize.

Do you guys think I should wear a suit to class? It's not like I wanna be friends with any of the assholes that are going to be in class with us, but it's always smart to make a good impression with the teacher. Maybe I'll even bring her an apple. Teachers like that shit.

Anyway, Allyson and Erica got a good chunk of work done in Jr's room over the past week. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen. Have a splendid weekend my friends.

Are you gonna sack out on the new couch? I remember when I first got my matching couch and loveseat. It really is a sweet feeling. The new crib looks great, in both senses of the word. That kid is gonna LOVE his made-over 'hood. Embrace the Breast Feeding 101. Peace out! LOL! And Happy "almost" Mother's Day to Allyson.

Captain! We have almsot the same exact crib! Move that mattress up for now...you;re going to kill your back throwing the baby down that far...

Also...GO TO THE BREAST FEEDING CLASS! Boobies are big when they are full of milky-liscious fluid...and at some point some one is gonna whip one out. It's research...plus, you'll get bonus points for being "interested" in something that doesn't pertain to you...

Have a good weekend!

I say you wear prosthetic hooters and act all disappointed when you find out that you can't practice as well. Take them off, spike them to the ground in disgust and scream, "this is bullshit!" punch something or knock something over on the way out too.

Dude, only 36 and you ALREADY have a couch and love seat that match? I'm impressed.

Teachers like that shit huh? I just love your vocab.

I don't know Cork, a suit to the class might be giving off the wrong impression. They might think you work for the mob, or...a dietician...

And TRUST ME, you DO NOT want to be in a room full of pregnant women and have them thinking your a dietician, do you?

No...I didn't think so.

*goes into your closet*

How about this?

*pulls out a pair of cargo shorts and a nice (but casual) polo*

Yeah, I agree. You don't want to be in a parenting class and have people thinking that you work for Tony Soprano. The ladies might go into early labour.
Cargo shorts would be fine..
Also Rockdog raises agood piont - about the mattress...The boob stuff? I dunno...
Congrats on the new furniture.

You're going to take a class on how to change a diaper?? LOL. Let us know how that experience is. LOL.

Go to ALL the parenting classes...Its good for you to know the info, and Allyson will appreciate having you there to laugh about some of the stuff after the class is over.

Then you can blog about all the stuff you never know about breast feeding...LOL

Junior will definitely be stylin' and profilin' in his new room.

We don't need no stinking classes.

It's not like you're going to KILL the kid. His diaper might leak once or twice, but you'll eventually get the hang of it.

The new furniture is so nice! Great color and it looks fab with the wall color as well.

The crib and hamper are just too cute for words.

Love. Them.

Happy weekend, Cork!

Happy Mother's Day, Allyson!
Your place looks great! Very crisp, and I like the new couches.
Very chic... in a contemporary, not too feminine way of course.

Have a great weekend!

I saw a cool shirt you could wear. it says: I Love Hot Moms. That would get all the ladies in the class on your side...I think.

Take a good look at that clean furniture before the kid gets at it. It won't be the same in two years.

Nice set up for the new bairn :)
Parenting classes, I remember going to them when we were having our first baby Tomas. we were happy we met a nice couple of people who also had a son first. We all mucked around and carried on and the boys made fun of the implements shown to us that MAY be used during birthing process...ie, keilland forceps = salad tongs. Suffice to say, both us ladies had the help of these salad tongs, and we let our men have it in no uncertain terms for calling them such, LOL.

Your apartment looks great. I like the crib, too. But Rockdog is right, move the mattress up.

As for the classes, just wait until you see the birthing film. Get ready, man...they don't hold anything back.

Your enthusiasm makes me grin from ear to ear!
I'm 42-years old, and I have yet to own a couch ... futons, roommate furniture, borrowed bits, but never one of my own. It's a good goal for a grown up, whether you act like one or not.

Thank you Allyson and Keith for such a nice dinner on Mother's Day. The spaghitti was delicious. And by the way, I Do have the greatest Son-in-law!!! I want to be the first to vote for the "Daddy's Team" outfit to wear home from the hospital. It is adorable!!
