Milk does a Captain Corky Jr good!

I've never really been a big milk guy. Never had any real use for the stuff. Never bought into all the hype surrounding milk either. I find that washing down a mouthful of cookies with a big gulp of coke is way more affective and satisfying than dunking my cookies into a glass of milk and eating them that way. As a matter of fact, I would rather just grab a box of cereal on my way over to the couch then fix myself a bowl of cereal. What a hassle making a bowl of cereal has become. I guess sometimes when my teeth start to hurt I'll chug a glass of milk. I've read before, on the back of comic books, that milk is good for strong bones and teeth, but up until now I was pretty much convinced that the dairy farmers just said that shit so they could sell the stuff to dumb kids.

But damn... After 7 weeks of Captain Corky Jr eating nothing but milk (with some soy) look at how even more beautiful he's become! Plus, when the kid eats he looks like he's enjoying his bottle more than I look when I'm on my 6th beer. That's saying a lot folks. He's also eating more of the stuff daily. Up to 6 ounces twice already. It's been a very big week for Jr. Not only is he drinking more milk every day, but his umbilical stump finally fell off yesterday. What a week!!!

I think I'm gonna have to try this wonder drug for myself. Today I plan on throwing out all the food in our house, and for the next 7 weeks all I'm going to eat is milk. I know Allyson doesn't mind changing and feeding Max, but do you think she'll be just as enthusiastic about changing, feeding and burping me after every meal as well? Just think about how much more colorful I'll be in 7 weeks.

I drink a lot of milk because I love cereal... but someone at work told me that all dairy foods are bad for the digestive system... Does that make any sense?? Milk does a body good! Pass it on=:)

I love milk! But organic milk. I am spoiled now b/c it is the absolute best! And putting milk in cereal is disgusting. I don't understand that practice at all.

Jay said...

Well this milk stuff might not be so bad, but I'm not totally convinced. I'll wait and see how it works out for you Corky then I'll make a decision on it.

Milk is great for making little calvess into great big cows and bulls and quickly. If you want fat that adds bulk, then it is a great source of protein and calcium. I'm not convinced by the milk cheerleaders either and I have to live in a dairy state that thinks milk is nectar to the gods. IM (not so) humble Opinion. Milk is for children. There are much better things for adults to drink! (grin)

Cookies with Coke? That is so, so, wrong. But hey, if you enjoy it...

I'm a big cereal eater...with milk. And biscuits with milk too. Oh and milk before going to bed so I don't wake up with a hangover. Oh and banana milkshake is the best.

Try it, you might like it!

You're pretty colorful now so I can't imagine what that would look like! I do think Allyson might take a pass on this idea, though. Good luck with that! Like Tod, I buy into the milk thing. Always have. Looks like its working pretty well for junior!

Enemy of the Republic said...

When I was pregnant, I couldn't tolerate milk, so I got my calcium from other sources. My son couldn't tolerate it either for his first year, so we did soy. Now he drinks milk constantly.

Peggy said...

His little belly raisin hung on in there until TODAY?! Well, changing him will be easier now that you don't have to worry about the tummy getting wet.

Let me know how you get on with your exclusively dairy diet.

They grow so very fast this first year. Just wait until his birthday and you'll look back and marvel at this amazing 12 months.

Princess Pointful said...

Uh-oh.
Does anyone else want to tell him what exactly such a diet would entail to get the same benefits as Junior?

Beader: People have all sorts of issues, don't they? It's a good thing there's people like you and me who have good heads on their shoulders. ;)

Karma: I don't know if I've ever had organic milk before. When I'm forced to drink milk I like 100% whole milk.

Queen: I've thought about buying him a six pack on Budweiser nips before, but since I'm going out for the Father of the Year Award it's strictly milk for the next 10 months. ;)

Jay: I'll keop you posted, but today I cheated and had a coke with brownie at the mall. ;)

AFKAPW: Don't Cows eat grass? Maybe I'll just skip the milk and start feeding myself grass. That sounds very appetizing. ;)

captain corky said...

Tod: You mean I can have milkshakes on the all milk diet? SWEET!!!

Gawilli: Yeah, Allyson isn't too crazy about my idea so I guess I'm just going to have to feed myself. ;)

Enemy: Milk and cereal was Allyson's main meal when she was pregnant with Jr. I think she tried every brand of cereal there is.

Peggy: I already cheated on milk with a coke today. It's a good thing that tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. ;)

Princess: You mean 4 ounces every 3 hours wont cut it for me? ;)

MrRyanO said...

Corky, I'm confused (imagine that...)...do you want to drink milk so that your umbilical cord will finally fall off??? Anyway, make sure it's your umbilical cord and not something more important before chugging the milk...results could be BAD. LOL!

neroli said...

Corky Jr. is lookin' good, and probably feelin' fine!
I think milk has less to do with it than a lot of other things :)
Count me among the milk-nay-sayers.

Jodi said...

What a face! I love that milk mouth. My mom used to say that babies made bottles look like the most delicious thing in the world!

He's a doll, Corky. You're a lucky guy!

J.

PS. Is Allyson going back to work or is she going to hang out with Corky Jr. this year?

whimsical brainpan said...

I don't know that colorful is the word so much as odiferous is. ;-)

jAMiE said...

Mmmm, i love milk, but it has to be ice cold milk, no warm milk for me!

Pud said...

Hey ~ I like to drink soy milk. Does that count?

Alicia said...

I'm wondering why the hell it took 7 weeks for his umbilical stump to fall off.

That's a freakishly long time.

Dr. Kenneth Noisewater said...

Are you sure any of it is getting into his mouth?? It's all over his mug.

Keshi said...

Corky I just hate olain milk! :)

Keshi.

Rockdog: My umbilical cord is attached to a still. Does thins mean that I have a drinking problem?

Neroli: There's tons of great stuff in his formula! Maybe I should use a table spoon of his formula for my coffee in the morning. What do you think? ;)

Hoosiergirl5: Thanks J. Allyson will be going to work in a couple of weeks. Her mom retired a little early so she could help us out with watching the baby.

Whim: He is intoxicating. ;)

Jamie: Me either. Do you put ice in your milk though?

Pink said...

Kid Kreme is looking a bit smug there with all that milk on his face.

He's taking after dad more and more everyday ;)

Got milk?

I'm fresh out of milk right now. That sucks.

Off to 7-Eleven...

captain corky said...

Pud: As long as you don't drink Coconut milk. That shit aint milk. ;)

Alicia: He doesn't have an infection but I think there may be a little scaring. Max is going to see the doctor next week so I'll know better what the deal is/was.

Dr Kenneth Noisewater: Maybe I should start using a funnel, that might make things easier for all involved. ;)

Keshi: yeah, but how about chocolate milk. Yum!!!

captain corky said...

Pinks: He does look very good in Yellow/Orange doesn't he. ;)

Monk: 7-11's make me home sick. Out here all they have is glorified gas stations.

Aunt Jackie said...

Wow, what is his secret? He just keeps getting better looking every day! I love milk.

Biddie said...

Poor, poor Allyson.
Sigh.
That is a good looking little kid, Corky :)

do milkie bars count as a milk diet?! just love milkie bars!
he sure is thriving and he justs gets more handsome every time we see him.

Blancodeviosa said...

at least get the organic kind. unless your into anti- biotics and steroids!

Metal Mark said...

Cookies with coke? Yuck! I always wake up around 3:00 every night and have a coffee cup full of milk. Then have it again with my cereal in the morning.

Jenny! said...

Oh....he is so cute! You bottle feed then? I breastfeed and that was fun...he was a fucking feign for the boob! Milk does a body good!

furiousBall said...

They really do look so content when they drink a bottle or nurse. I mean I can't remember the last time I fell asleep eating something...besides the box of milkbones in college that is.

That Doc sure had a straglehold on him in that first picture, didn't he? You're supposed to hold 'em by the gills...geeezz.

Almost puked. I hate milk. Can't drink it. Except with chocolate cake, brownies, or Oreos. And even then . . . I have about 5 minutes (maybe 10, if the fridge was really cold) to drink it before it is 'too warm' for me. I can't believe I drank that stuff exclusively as a baby. Maybe that's why I can't stomach it now.

Such a happy looking face! The boy loves his milk!

I love the pictures of your little guy. He's got the most precious lips on him. He'll be the heartbreaker. Isn't it funny when they drink their milk how they sound? GAllup. GALLUPPpppp...the squeaks of contentment-ahhh to have a baby again.

So, did you save the umbilical cord for a memory? Or are you just going to have it with your liver and milk later tonight?
People do that, I've heard..I'm not judging, but the closest I would ever come to that was "accidentally" tasting what my breast milk was all about. :)

Always,
Crusty~

This lactose intolerant girl's tummy is turning over at the thought of nothing but milk for 7 weeks. Ugh.

That Corky jr is a cutie pie.

Tink said...

Hoop goes through a gallon of milk a week. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we have kids... Oy.

Your son is so beauuuuutiful with his milk goatee!!

Sarah said...

I love milk but it does not love me.
What a cutie though, it might be worth the upset stomach to look that cute.

Christie said...

Sorry, I think milk is titty cum and refuse to drink it. I haven't drank a glass of milk since I was 3 and I'm fine. I love chocolate milk, though. Now that is good. Shut up, I know it is still milk, but it doesn't taste like milk so it doesn't count.

Unknown said...

Jr. is such a cute guy! As for your all milk diet, you may just regret it, any radical change could upset your digestive system in a big way. Maybe you should work your way up to it, you know 1 litre a day then 2 then 3 and so on. You should definitely have to change your own diapers though, lol.

Burfica said...

what a little cutie. My son used to call his milk bottle his "nilp ba ba"

Big Pissy said...

I ADORE milk!

It's one of my favorite beverages.

Max is still the cutest baby since my girls were babies.

Just so you know.... ;-)

Cheryl said...

Are you just this funny on your blog? Do the other people in your life appreciate your humor?

Unknown said...

When is it too early to introduce Max to Coke in a bottle? I mean, I know it's bad for the teeth, but that first set is going to fall out anyway.

Crashdummie said...

never been a milk person - and after your colorful describtion of your new diet, I think I wont be able to even see a glass of milk without feeling sick!

(but max, omg, he is just sooooooooo adoreable! you just wanna pinch those cheeks!)

captain corky said...

Aunt Jackie: He won't even tell me what his secret is and I'm his Dad. ;)

Biddie: Thanks! Allyson sure does put up with a lot. doesn't she? ;)

Her Indoors: I think Milky Bars do count, because Tod said I could have milkshakes with my diet so why not Milky Bars with yours. ;)

Blancodeviosa: I only like steroids, antibiotics, rat excrement and fingers in my hot dogs. ;)

Metal Mark: At 3 AM I'm usually on my third cup of coffee because I'm at work at that time. Mostly I drink coffee and water these days.

captain corky said...

Jenny: I heart boobs too. There were some issues with breast feeding because Max was on Antibiotics for two weeks after he was born so we've been formula feeding him from the start. He's doing pretty good with it.

Furiousball. The only time I drool on my self and fall asleep is when I'm at work. I can tell you that it has nothing to do with me being content.

Leslie: I think it's because he was squirming really hard trying to get to a television set.

Emmeline: I don't think I've ever tried warm milk. That's just gross!

Nancy: Just like his Daddy loves his Budweiser. ;)

captain corky said...

Crustybeef: Thanks. I've actually been shooting it at people through a straw. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it next. ;)

Etain: I never really trust a beverage that doesn't mix well with most alcohols. ;)

Heather: Thanks. I take it you're not having any Captain Crunch this morning?

Tink: Thank you. :) Allyson and I sometime will rip through a gallon and other times it goes bad. I'm sure Jr will be drinking lots of regular milk one day.

Sarah: Milk is completely indifferent to me. Sometime is acts like I'm not even there.

captain corky said...

Christie: I love Chocolate milk tool I could drink an entire gallon of it in one sitting.

Madame X: I'll give him lots of hugs for you today.

Pauline: Allyson vetoed my master plan. Looks like I'll have to change and burp myself.

Welcome to the log by the way. ;)

Burfica: Jr just shrieks right now when he wants his milk. But I don't even mind that. ;)

Big Pissy: Thanks. I love hearing stuff like that. ;)

captain corky said...

Cheryl: Allyson certainly didn't marry me for my money, but it could be good looks though. ;)

Crashy: Wanna pay a quarter to give Max a hug and a kiss?

Debs said...

What a cute milk face!! :)

I'm sure you would be all kinds of pretty purples, blues, and yellows.

And look at that cutie face!

Can I borrow him for a while?

fiwa said...

Tell Allyson that it's just one of those things you do for love. ;) Be sure to post before and after pictures of yourself, kay?

PS. CCJr is too cute for words.

pilgrimchick said...

Wow--there's something to be said for milk. Although I think I'll pass on the diet, though.

I'm not big on milk, but even I have to admit that it's working wonders for Corky Jr. Pretty soon he's going to be bench pressing you.

info@thebabymarketplace.com said...

He's gorgeous! Unless you're as cute as he is, I wouldn't try the getting burbed and changed thing ... ahh, might find yourself single ... really, really, single.

captain corky said...

Ashley: It's never to early to introduce Jr to the drink of champions. Coke is always the real thing!

Debs: Thanks. :)

Gina: Would you like to borrow him on Saturday? I have a few movies I need to see. ;)

Fiwa: Allyson's just not buying it this time. ;)

slsykenyon: Probably a good Idea. ;)

captain corky said...

Bottleblonde: Exactly. I want to have him ready for the Iron Man contest by the time he's 4.

Mommyknows: I think my wife agrees with you. Completely.

And welcome to the family. :)

Cazzie!!! said...

LOL, your immunity would triple,haha

Canadian flake said...

I also really dislike milk. I would go as far as to say I HATE IT!!! Rethink the diet change...but getting the wife to "change" and burp ya might be sorta interesting...hee hee hee. Let me know if it works out for y'all.. lmao.

magickat said...

I love Max. He is my favorite internet baby!

But I hate milk. I still don't believe the hype about milk, even after all your propaganda.
