How do I feel?

I feel fucking angry and cheated, that's how I fucking feel. How dare JJ Abrams! How dare he not include William Shatner in the new Star Trek film! Abrams and Paramount are dead to me.

I've been receiving emails and comments around the clock on this subject, or as I now refer to them, condolences. This is what Sunshine wrote to me in an E-mail this weekend,

"I've read the reports about Shatner not being in the new Star Trek movie. Are you feeling OK? I was worried this news might result in hospitalization. Light a candle, dude, light a candle and observe a moment of silence for Kirk."
Terri also left a link to the obituary in a comment on my last post. I first heard the news from a very good friend of mine named Debbie from back home. I just want to thank all of my friends who've been here for me during this dark and sad time in my life. It's been a really rough weekend and I'm just now beginning to try and make sense of it all.

Lost, Alias and anything else associated with Abrams are all now forbidden in my house hold and on the this log. I just wonder how I'm going to tell my wife since both of those shows are two of her favorites, but I'll deal with that hurdle when I come to it. Don't cry for Captain Corky... After all, I still have Jr to live for... and Star Trek the complete television series, the animated series, all the movies, tons of action figures, and all of the adventures I created in my own head.

Dude, I know how hard it is to get past great wrongs like this when they happen. Just be patient and wait for your chance. Someday, somehow you will get your revenge on these people.

Awww... I'm so sorry they excluded him. They are young and brash, they know not what they do. I'll have a drink in your memory tonight. On the other hand, Max gets cuter with every picture - what are you feeding that boy? Happy pills?!

That is just wrong...

ummmmmmmm okay

Shatner's rep has been tainted by the ridiculous characters he has played since departing the Starship Enterprise.
Oh, and Priceline... don't forget about Priceline.
That was a real career killer.

Ahhh Jr is getting so big, he is soooo cute:0)

Who is the dude you are upset about, hmmm, is it family......hihihihi....just teasing you abit.:)
Miss you keep safe.

OK at the risk of getting my head bitten off, isn't Shatner a bit old to be playing a Captin Kirk from the early years? Or did you mean he should have a cameo role somehow?

I bet the cast from Enterprise are pissed they never made it to the big screen too.

dilling said...

Ah, but he so enjoyably trashy in Boston Legal...
condolences, for sure, but any reason to lost Lost is a good reason...just saying.

Bonnie Blue said...

Ok, not a star trek fan AT ALL, in fact I kind of hate it. I know, I know...that's blasphemy on here but hear(read)me out. I agree that Shatner should be in a remake in a cameo role because he is what you think of when you think Star Trek...at least I do...and I also think of Patrick Stewart and that time they made me watch Star Trek in camp and I was miserable...hey...I was an 8 year old girl...gimme a break.

Anyway...I hope you really don't give up on LOST as it is fantastic. That said....I hope your mourning period is short.

Gosh, I'm sorry, Corky. Remember you still have Max and Allyson.

Great picture of Max by the way. I love baby laughs!

Gee, that's tough. But that's a mighty fine consolation prize sitting in that car seat. I can just hear him now!

You know I'm here for ya in this time of tragic mourning. It is a travesty, and I'm sure Bill is glad for your support.

Oh, sweetie pie, I feel your pain.

Did that make you feel better? It usually erases any pain a man feels.

I´m so sorry, Corky :(
Jr. is so cute :)

You have my complete sympathies and condolences as well... as always. Aunt Jackie always feels deeply for the pain of others. Especially for her October blog crush! ;)

Hope all gets better soon. Hang Tough Captain!! :)

I think Captain Kirk should hire Denny Crane and sue JJ!

This baby just keeps getting cuter and cuter.

neroli said...

Oh, Darlin'. I'm sorry.
You know he's Larger Than Life.
He'd want you to kick up your heels in your best pair of ankle boots, have some quality time with your lovely wife, and keep on with the business of Going Where No Man Has Gone Before.
You're Father to a Little Person---what a universe to explore!
And "Lost?"
What a piece of tin, with or without Shatner in the new movie.
I spit on "Lost."
*puh-tooie*

eric1313 said...

That's a whole lot of blasphemy.

Nimoy without Shatner is Star Search, not Star Trek.

Biddie said...

OMG.
I know how you feel. When Buffy was over I thought that I was gonna have to be put in a home.
Deep breaths.
One day at a time, man, one day at a time.

You are going to make a decision between Allyson and Shat and you aren't choosing Shat? Well, Allyson does keep your bed a lot warmer and is the mother of your child, who is looking pretty cute by the way! I love that you always catch him so happy. That isn't always easy with babies.

I have to be honest, I don't think I have ever cared less about any movie news ever.

I have never been able to stay awake all the way through the original Star Trek movie. I've tried to watch it at 2 in the afternoon on a sunny day and have it put me to sleep.

Sorry for "your loss" ?

At least my nephew looks happy and healthy

Not good though is it?

Jay: I will have my revenge. I've foreseen this...

Fiwa: He had one hell of a fit yesterday. Scared us half to death, but he's usually a very happy boy. ;)

Beader: Isn't it!

Alekx: Exactly! I was so angry when I first heard the news that I was speechless for two days.

Alicia: You're not talking about the same Shatner who played TJ Hooker are you? That character was brilliant! ;)

captain corky said...

Etain: Thanks. We love him to pieces. I hope things are good with you. :)

Tod: Because you are so funny and a friend I'm not going to put a life time ban on you.

Dilling: I am glad that he finally won an Emmy, which he should have gotten for Star Trek back in the 60's. He also should have won back to back Oscars in the 80's for his performances in Star Trek II and Star Trek III, but I guess the boorish academy has something against Shatner.

Bonnie Blue: Not a Star Trek fan at all? I think we may need to do an Intervention. ;)

Her Indoors: Thank you. You're always there for me when I need a friend. :)

captain corky said...

Guilty: It was hard, but I did manage to get out of bed and go to work. ;)

Abbagirl74: I don't what the deal is... All I know is that it's a dark day.

Pink: It's not fair. And thanks. ;)

Gawilli: I look forward to introducing him to Kirk for the first time. ;)

Sunshine. Thanks. Can I have a hug?

captain corky said...

Rockdog: Very nice! Looks like the sun is starting to shine.

Bottleblonde: It always does. ;)

Nauma: Thank you! Glad to see you my friend. :)

Aunt Jackie: With friends like you I know I'll make it. ;)

Nancy: Good plan! And then we can have Hooker bust him.

Thanks. ;)

captain corky said...

Neroli: Sounds like a good plan Neroli. Maybe a Star Trek marathon is in order? ;)

Eric: Exactly. It's ridiculous and preposterous to say the least.

Biddie: I'm doing my best, but I picked a bad week to stop huffing glue. ;)

Ashley: He smiles all the time and is a pretty happy baby, but he scared the crap out of us yesterday.

Birdman: Star Trek the Motion Picture is more for deep thinkers like myself. Might I suggest you try something a little lighter like, Must Love Dogs?

captain corky said...

Cazzie: Thank you. :)

casdok: I've gone through 100 paper bags already, but I think I'm starting to do ok. ;)

Terri said...

I wonder if in their meetings (JJ and Bill) Bill proceeded to ask for the moon and stars because he knows there are people like you out there! JJ is either off his rocker or a cheapskate (or both)...we may never know the whole story. I'm sorry for your loss but what a great way to recover hangin' with little Max! Great pic and I also must point out that I love that you take the time to comment for everyone. That's probably just as tough and takes just as long as writing your actual post. Kudos to you Corky!

CRUSTYBEEF said...

HOW DARE THEY!! Send Max over to poop on their plot and spit up on their camera's!!! :)
WHy do they have to ruin it?
Always,
crusty~
and I agree with Terri..very cool that you do that with us readers!!! very very cool!

CRUSTYBEEF said...

P.S. What does your wife think about all this change with the Treks?
ALways,
Crusty!

Cheryl said...

So sorry, Corky. I'll be thinking of you while I watch Lost. I just couldn't give that up, not even as a protest. Never.

Tod said...

EEEEEKKKKK!!!!! Don't ban me or I'll stalk you dressed as Uhura.

karma lennon said...

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news, Corky. Seriously, man, that's just wrong. (Or something....) And Max cracks me up in that picture! :)

Burfica said...

Who is Kirk??

hahaha Just kidding. You know I'm a trekkie.

So if he's not in the new movie then who the hell is????

Heidi the Hick said...

Is he NUTS??? Star Trek without Shatner? I mean, he's...he's...SHATNER!!!!!

Couldnt' they write a part for him where he's the young Kirk's dad or something? Benevolent ruler of a super fun planet?

You should put on a letter writing campaign.

Your kid has a gorgeous grin by the way.

Metal Mark said...

I am just hoping the movie is good.

Tink said...

I was all for the revolt until you said no LOST. I still love you Cork and I'm sorry for your loss. But NOBODY is taking Sawyer away from me.

Ashley said...

What did he do that was so frightening?

mjd said...

You are right. This is wrong. Good thing that they canceled the second of the unmentionable television series although I admit to admiring the courage and moxie of girl spy, Sydney Bristow.

Somethings are right with the world as Corky Jr. is more handsome than ever.

eric1313 said...

Shatner hit the nail on the head--if it's not Next Generation, he's the one people are going to want to see.

People like him "galavanting through the cosmos" as his ex-wife in Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan put it.

At least we still have those movies. Wrath of Khan was always my favorite.

"Khan! I'm laughing at the superior intellect!"

That was the shit.

captain corky said...

Terri: Thanks for the kind words. :)

Crustybeef: Thanks. And I usually have to strap my wife down in iron shackles to watch Star Trek with me, but she has seen all the movies, thanks to me. ;)

Cheryl: Don't tell anyone, but my wife will never give up Lost or Alias. She loves both shows.

Tod: LOL!

Karma: Oh it's definitely wrong Karma. ;)

captain corky said...

Burfica: Exactly!

Heidi: Star Trek without Shatner is like... peanut butter without jelly. Or some shit. ;)

Metal Mark: Recreating that kid of chemistry between actors is going to be nearly impossible I think.

Tink: What is it with that guy?!? ;)

Ashley:Long story which I'll tell, but we had a "new parents moment." Max has a cold and it must have started on Sunday cause he spent a good chunk of the day crying and it freaked us out a bit...

captain corky said...

MJD: We've seen every episode the show that you're talking about once or twice. ;)

Eric: Exactly. Those characters are great and almost all of it has to do with the chemistry between DeForest Kelly, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. I hope I can watch this movie with an open mind, but it took me 10 years to warm up to Picard and his group. LOL

CRUSTYBEEF said...

I've got popcorn!! :) Happy Tuesday..it's almost time for your guys first Halloween..so is he going to be a football player, a peain the pod, what did you guys decide?
Always,
Crusty~ :)

If I win this auction on eBay, I'll have the flame thrower shipped to your house and you can show that Abrams guys what for.

Dude, you need to make your own movie!!
Shatner + Max = movie genius.

Christie said...

Do you need me to make you some chocolate milk and cookies? Will that make you feel better?

david mcmahon said...

Apparently, William Shatner said he had ``early discussions'' with Abrama about his inclusion in the movie.

A great pity that it all came to nothing ...
