Argyle Socks

It's amazing but there are only about 11 weeks until baby # 2 arrives. The rest of the family seems to be taking things in stride, but I'm freaking the fuck out.

Allyson is doing well. She finishes up student teaching next month and then I'll give her a couple of weeks after that to rest on the couch and watch some TV or read while we wait for May 17th which is hopefully the day we can schedule the C-Section for. I will also take her to see Star Trek on May 8th because I know she's dying to see it... Just like me! I may even buy her the snack of her choice if she shows the right amount of enthusiasm.

Max is doing well too. Right now he's learning lots of sign language and learning how to use the DVR. This will come in handy in case I have to call him to record something for me while baby #2 is being delivered. He's also doing lots of other shit toddlers do.

That leaves me, and like I said I'm freaking the fuck out. I don't understand why THEY always schedule movies that I want to see really bad so close to Allyson's due dates! Last time it was Harry Potter and this time it's Star Trek 11. How are they going to fuck me next time?!? Ah yes... The Avengers in 2011.

I'm also worried that son number 2 and son number 1 won't look as good as the Beaver does when they go fishing with their Argyle socks on. But I guess I can worry about that later... I do know that they'll both be better looking than the Beaver. I'm not sure about Wally though... Only time can give me that answer.

I'm not really sure if I'm freaking out about anything else. I know there was an issue with the shirt I was going to wear to baby number 2's birth but that's been ironed out by Allyson. And I really don't think there's going to be another ice storm before the kid's born. The next Harry Potter flick comes out in July so there won't be a scheduling conflict there. I guess things look pretty good right now.

Don't freak out. You're not officially in trouble until you have #3 - then you and Allyson are outnumbered!

Glad all is well otherwise. And yes, NO MORE ICE STORMS. Or wind storms. I do not want to still be in school on MY birthday (July).

My 2nd son was due May 18 which was very near the SERIES finale of Seinfeld and I didn't want to miss that last episode. Back then, there wasn't jack shit for good movies coming out like there has been lately. So I somewhat understand your big movie/impending newborn quandry.
He was born the 16th, during the season finale of Walker Texas Ranger, which remained on because he showed up WAY TOO FAST. It's all good though.

And, Wally Cleaver was kind of a hottie, your boys could do worse.

Best o' luck, keep us posted!

My husband rented a copy of Edward Scissorhands on his way home from work 17 years ago. I reeeeeally wanted to see that movie and wouldn't admitt that I was in labour until I couldn't stand it anymore! I never did see the end!

You've a few days there for Star Trek so you should be okay. It is a pretty close call.

Luckily she wasn't due anytime near the Super Bowl. I think that would be the perfect storm that would send you completely over the deep end.

Kiddo's birthday is may 8th. Gl with the scheduling, and with the baby cooperating on that part.

I think your kids are much more beautiful than the beaver.

Hoosiergirl5: I've had enough of ice and wind storms this year to last me the rest of my life and I'm really, really sick of losing my Internet and cable.

Sunshine: I think Allyson kind of likes Wally too, but even better than that she think Andy Taylor is hot! I love it.

Olly: I don't think I've ever seen that all the way through either but I have serious issues with Tim Burton after that crap he tried to pass of as Batman.

Jay: I don't think she would ever do anything to desecrate the Holy Day of Super Bowl.

Beader: Me too. ;)

The baby will cooperate or I'll put him in timeout the second he comes out. ;)

You are allowed to freak out. That's what parents are supposed to do. Just remember...above all else that you do...your kids are loved.

J is right. The real problems will start when you are outnumbered. Although I think two on two canbe pretty tricky as well.

and by the way, I think argyle socks are swell...

I never thought of training toddlers to programme the DVR - I want one.

you're cute when you freak out. It's a change from one to two..but you and Alyson are really good parents...I'd stay away from the socks though..

and bring home baby #2's blanket so that Max can sniff him out to make sure he likes him or not. LOL.

it's hard to believe it's 11weeks till numero two..it just seems like yesterday you made the announcement in blog land.

Think of it more like having 5 kids (or possibly 6), as opposed to having just 2. Trust me on this. I know of what I speak.

Welcome to the parenting of two boys who are less than two years apart! I lived through it, you can too. You'll be fine. I hope this one looks the least bit like Allyson, since Max might as well have been your test tube clone...geez! xo
