Not Enough Time

This just in: I've been irritated twice in the last two weeks. I don't like to get irritated. It fouls up my programing. Both times it happened at work and in both instances a serious lack of sleep was the route cause. This is what happened the first time: Blah blah blah blah blah, fucking asshole, blah. I'm sure that you can identify with that situation. The second time was similar except that blah blah blah blah blah, fucking dickhead, blah.

But what I'm really upset about is the fact that I have to cram my writing in to this tiny 3 hour window because I'm going to be way too busy working the rest of the day. It's not fair! How come Author's like Tennessee Williams and Norman Mailer got/get to live in towns as beautiful and inspiring as Provincetown MA where they could/can work exclusively on their crafts? Meanwhile Captain Corky has to do all of his writing here in Louisville, KY, in between fucking shifts no less. Just think If I didn't' have to work today chances are I would have written two really great posts. The title for the first one would have been Captain Corky: Expectant Father, Reformed Miscreant, and Megalomaniac. The Second Post was going to be a commentary piece on blog commenting. Oh well... Back to the fucking grindstone I guess. I just hope I don't have to wait till I'm dead before I become famous. That would really suck!

This post was made possible by the Birdman 33:

I hear there is this slamming new blog at this location:

I encourage you all to check it out.

I'm down to 8 minutes before I have to go to work. Bah humbug. It's a gorgeous day and I'm out on my deck. Oh well. La de da. I want to read your post about commenting. Maybe in your next window?

Maybe when Corky Jr. arrives you could be a stay-at-home-dad/author.

Ask Allyson what she thinks about that. ;-)

Peter Gibbons: Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day, filling out useless forms and listening to eight different bosses drone on about about mission statements.

I think Big Pissy is on to something there. You could be a stay at home dad. You could take care of the kid, do some cleaning and cooking and maybe some laundry and then the rest of the time you could devote to writing. I think it would work.

You need to get a job like mine, they pay you pretty well to blog all day long! It's a sweet deal....the stay at home dad thing...too much work...my fiance does that and I swear he has just enough time to shower!

I was gonna say, if you think you don't have enough time NOW, just wait until the wee one arrives.

And, didn't you know that art is worthless unless you have suffered to create it? Those bastards were lucky, and definitely in the minority.

I've never been to Louisville, but I'm sure it's beautious in it's own way.... :/

Those do sound like they would be awesome posts. I hope you find the time to write them soon. BTW, I always suspected that you were a megalomaniac (we can always spot our own kind ;). I just flat out knew that you were a miscreant.

Cheryl: I'll eventually write it. I've got all sorts on nonsense stored up in my pretty little head, and its all got to come out eventually.

Pissy: When my wife gets a job I'm still going to keep my night job. It pays me pretty good for the hours and gives me great benefits and stock.

Lady K: I like that idea a lot. But who's blogs would we read?

Furiousball: I couldn't agree more!!!

Jay: Thats kind of the plan, except that I'm going to keep working part time at night at the place I've been working at since 2000.

Jenny: Your job sounds cool! I work for a company that has been around for 100 years and is essentially as rigid in policy as it was in 1930.

Gina: I'm preparing for it as we speak. 5 to 6 hours of sleep at night during the week is all I'm getting right now. I hear and fear it might be less than that.

Rockdog: I guess the world will never know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.

Beader: Louisville isn't all that bad. After all Jr is going to be born here. :)

Whim: I'm not real good at hiding my Miscreant tendencies, am I? ;)

Man Corky I feel the same way! I've been fantasizing lately of living somewhere up in New England or whatever, just the sea, a quaint little town and cool townfolk. Writing whatever I want and no more 'rush rush'... I'm tired of rush rush and stress!

Jeez! I don't like when you're irritated either. It irritates me.

Now I'm irritated!!

Are you irritated that I'm irritated? I am.

Ms. Tuesday said...

I like writing when Im irritated best of all... I can get it all off my chest with no one to interrupt my thoughts.

Can you do the one about commenting next?

Im back btw. No more extended absences. At least not from me. KJR and the Birdman however, are a different story.

Aunt Jackie: I'm tired of rushing and stress too. It's no fun. Let's move north of Connecticut where stress doesn't exist.

Wait a minute...Did I just say that stress doesn't exist on the East Coast? Now I know I need some sleep!!!

Dan: As long as you don't have irritated bowl syndrome. That can be quite irritating.

Tuesday: The Birdman comments sporadically, and I'm assuming KJR will be back sometime around Christmas.

I like writing when I'm angry but not when I'm tired.

And I'm glad you're back. ;)

When we start our own painting company, "Fruit By The Foot" you won't have any bosses to answer to...
except me.

And then there is our profitably enterprise of flipping properties that is just waiting for us

hell don't store it in your head!
it gets eaten by the grocery list.
write your ideas down and develop them when you get the time.

Birdman: One day we're going to hit that high note. I've been eyeballing a couple of joints that I would love for us to get our greasy little fingers on.

Cathy: Good Idea. I should really carry a note pad in my back pocket. My best ideas come when I'm painting houses and drinking coffee. Maybe it's a combination of the toxic paint fumes and the caffeine.
