Captain Corky: Finally Revealed?

First of all I would like to thank all of you for the blast we had with the last post. You guys are really great sports and a lot of fun! Did I just call ya'll sports? Anyway, thanks to all my new self worth I was able to leave my home on Saturday (without the comment box) and have a great day out and about with my wife. First we went to Kroger (grocery store) to buy Powerball tickets and shampoo. I also picked up a new pair of Sunglasses because I thought I lost my old pair. I never spend any real dough on sunglasses because I lose them or get paint on them almost immediately. But this time I went above and beyond and spent 20 bucks on a new pair. I know! Crazy right? I can hear most of you gasping as I type this, but sometimes you just have to take risks in life and not worry about the consequences. Incidentally, I found my old pair as soon as we left the grocery and got back in the car. (I couldn't find any pictures of myself with the new sunglasses on so I asked my dear ol' friend Keith if I could post a picture of him. Much to my suprise he said yes, I guess he's a little happy that he finally lost some weight, but still has plenty to go. According to him anyway).

Last night after a delicious catfish dinner we went to the movies and saw Knocked Up. It's probably the funniest movie I've seen in the last 10 years or so, and I'm not just saying that because Allyson and I are expecting (but I'm sure that doesn't hurt). The last time I remember laughing this hard at something that I didn't write or say myself was probably when I watched Clerks for the first time with the Birdman. Tons of pregnant, and pot jokes. A decent plot and funny motherfuckers. Right up my alley! Not to mention Izzie's in it too. Allyson loved it to and was crying by the end. Month 8 will do that to a broad.

I read some of the reviews for Knocked Up this morning and they're pretty incredible. I expect to read the Birdman's full review of this movie sometime this week hopefully.

"Incidentally, I found my old pair as soon as we left the grocery and got back in the car."

LOL! Isn't that always the case?

Dude, you are a big spender on sunglasses. I have a pair I paid less than 2 bucks for. They suck though.

Knocked Up does look pretty funny.

Keith is one cool dude! He's looking nice and trim :-)

It was so much fun playing clog the comment box with you Corky!

Glad you had a great weekend.

Now watch...now that you've spent a fortune on sunglasses it will rain for a week in Penn and it will be all your doing!

That Keith guy is awesome! He has great taste in T shirts too! (Watch him around your wife, eh?)

ALSO...the sunglasses thing. Seriously.

ALSO...The last time you laughed that hard at something you didn't write or say yourself???? Damn. that must be a hell of a funny movie.

Heidi the Hick said...

Oh yeah...

ALSO if you're not using your comment box right now, could I borrow it? The last time I got over 100 comments I had to throw a fake party to get them all.

Mind you it was the best party I never had, wasn't it???

Yas: Welcome back! Me a bum? Never. Hit Knocked Up during a matinee. It's worth it!

Whim: It's the story of my life. ;)

Jay: The good news: it's day 2 and I still know where the glasses are. There was a minor scare earlier this morning though.

Pink: It was a boat load of fun. I think that post might have earned side bar status.

Heidi: That Keith guy is alright if you like guys with perfectly chiseled features, blue eyes and just a wee bit of baby fat. ;)

Your Christmas/New years eve non party was a blast. Are you going to have it again this year?

Dude, before I go any further, I have to comment that I have that same Smokey and the Bandit shirt in that same green color. I'm not kidding. It's in the laundry pile right now!!

I wanted to see a photo of U with your new shades:(

I forgot to mention that your friend Keith looks way cool in those sunglasses. The $20 was well spent=:)

Sweet Man and I were going to go see Knocked Up Friday night and went shopping instead. His idea...not mine. Seriously!

Now that you've given it such a stellar review we're going to see it tomorrow night.

p.s. You're a tease. ;-)

I think that guy painted my house once. He was singing songs from Rent at the time, so he didn't look quite as manly as he does here.

I buy a new paid of sunglasses for $7 every time I go to my family reunion in Pennsylvania.

Good times

James Burnett said...

you and i share the same sunglasses curse. my last pair was $12. Ones before that were $5. They last forever. My $50 pair was broken in about two days.

Smokey and the Bandit???? Nice tee. I was just humming Eastbound and Down on my blog two weeks ago!
Just watch ol' Bandit run!!!
I need that t-shirt!!!

I lost my Oakleys, so to the discount store I went to buy me some cheap ass sunglasses.

And, as for Knocked Up, I heard via my favorite review site that it was fab, I'm glad to hear that one of my peeps likes it as well.

auntjackie said...

Well corky at least you get more than 6-10 comments per post :) Kudos to that, you must be doing something right!

kat said...

I was excited thinking that I would finally see what you look like but it turns out that isn't even you?

Not fair! Even though Kevin is P.D.C.!

Lady K said...

YOU are my brother from another mother. I SWEAR. I don't mean that in a "stalkerish" kind of way. LOL

BEST of luck to you's in the "home stretch!" (no offense to Allyson...)

captain corky said...

Michael C: I actually have er...Keith has two of those shirts. He tells me that they're extremely comfortable.

Beader: Best 20 Bucks I spent this weekend. ;)

Pissy: Let me know what you think of the movie. You guys should love it.

Birdman: It takes me about 12 hours to drive from Louisville to KY. I generally by my sunglasses about two hours into Ohio for roughly 7 to 10 bucks.

And I hope you got to keep the Little Giant.

James: I can waste money with the best of em, but there are two things I will never over pay for. One is sunglasses and two is boxer shorts. I buy all of my boxer shorts at Old Navy the day after a major holiday

captain corky said...

Sunshine: It's comfortable as hell and cheap. You can get it at Target for like 10 bucks.

Gina: Do you plan on seeing it this week?

Auntjackie: It's all about the love Jackie. ;)

Kat: It just so happens that Keith and Captain Corky have never been seen together at the same time. But Keith and Captain Corky can't be one and the same. Anybody but Keith! ;)

Lady K: Thanks. I can't believe June is already here!!!

Haven't seen knocked up but everyone is talking about it, getting good reviews so might have too.

By the way, I tagged you; 8 random facts; can you handle it? :o)

And go ahead and post a pic! A real one.

I can't wait to see that movie, I have heard so many great things about it! It's about time that there is a genuinly funny movie out...it's been awhile!

The Adult in Question said...

I saw Knocked Up on Saturday nite. I thought it was hilarious.

Webmiztris said...

i'm excited to see that movie too. is it really better than 40 Year Old Virgin? because that movie was HYSTERICAL!

furiousBall said...

see i'm not sure if i'll go see this or not. i like the actors in it a lot and is sounds funny. but the whole baby-birthin' thing might make me blubber big girl tears with my current crappery

RockDog said...

I'd like to see Knocked Up as it does look pretty funny and your giving it props ads to the chances of me actually getting out fo the house and spending too much money watching a movie...and the curly haired guy was hilarious in 40 Year Old Virgin...

Why won't I see it then?

Simply because I am on a mission to avoid all things related to greys anatomy...if possible.

I did not go see the recent motorcylce movie with Martin Lawrence simply because Tim Allen was in it and I can't stand him...

Not sure why I torture myself this way...

Biddie said...

I wasn't really planning on seeing 'Knocked Up,' but now you and KC have said that it's great.
What to do, what to do....

Sarah said...

the movie must have been good, the bloggers seem to be giving it two thumbs up overall!

captain corky said...

Etain: I feel so bad for the old pair now that I'm going to pay for its therapy. ;)

Tuesday: It really is!!!

Beefcake Almighty: I know...I'm ashamed of myself.

Terri: Rumor has it that If Corky ever became a real boy he would look a lot like Keith.

Alicia: Are you guys going to see it this week? It's so hilarious.

captain corky said...

Jenny: Yeah, most movies lately have been crap, but this one kicks ass.

Adult: It was great wasn't it?

Webmiztris: You can't go wrong with this one if you liked 40 Year Old Virgin.

Furiousball: It's very funny, but you might want to wait until you're in a better place.

Rockdog: I'm surprised that you boycott Grey's Anatomy with all the hot broads that are on it.

captain corky said...

Biddie: You should go see it. Go with your daughter and make a day of it. You'll have fun!

Sarah: I've noticed people are talking about it a lot. It was that good though. And it's nice to see that bloggers are talking about something other than Britney and Lindsay Lohan for Pete's sake!

Metal Mark said...
