Vodka

Ever since Smirnoff started selling Vodka in plastic bottles my life has never been the same. While I'm driving home from the liquor store if the bottle happens to slip out of my hands while I'm driving, it's not the end of the world! No broken glass to clean up and chances are the bottle will bounce right back into my hands.

Vodka's always been my drink of choice except for a short phase that I was going through in the early 90's with Colt 45. OK maybe I like Budweiser sometimes too. Scotch and Tequila aren't bad when Vodka isn't an option. Either of these is an acceptable substitute, but Vodka is always my first choice. I don't go below the Smirnoff line. No rail Vodka for me... Unless it's in a jello shot or something ridiculous like that. I realize that there is smoother Vodka out there but Im in it for the plastic.

I'm also very appreciative to Smirnoff for realizing that at the end of the night there's nothing more comical then watching the bottle of Vodka you just threw at the TV bounce off. Kind of takes the sting out of your rage, know what I mean?

Happy New Years everyone! It's gonna be a good one.

Yeah but the plastic bottle takes away that "From Here To Eternity" ability to break the end on the edge of a table and wave it at someone like Ernest Borgnine.

There's still a place for glass.

I tried to post a couple of times, but I kept getting too teary eyed. Vodka is beautiful. This post was beautiful. Is there any chance we are long lost relatives? We must have a shot together some day!...or a hit from a plastic bottle!

My current "happy place" beverage of choice is Smirnoff Green Apple malt liquor beverage/wine cooler thingys.
I also go for a nice Reisling or for a treat, hot chocolate with butterscotch schnapps in it.
But, get the kids in bed and the Smirnoff Green Apple, and possibly two depending on how the bedtime scenario went down.... mmmm, good stuff.
Happy New Year, you're my favorite new add to the blogroll going into the New Year! Holla!

Here's to plastic vodka bottles. I agree: they bounce well.

Just make sure they're empty first.

Anyway, Happy New Year Captain C. Best wishes for you and the misses and the little one on the way.

I really and truly don't know what to say about vodka. I know nothing about it.
But I DO want to say Happy New Year to you and your wife!

Vodka is MY drink of choice, as well. There's just something about the fact that you can't really taste the alcohol when you drink it, and it's really smooth. PLUS it can be mixed with just about ANYTHING, and the good stuff is great on the rocks. I've heard that GREY GOOSE is top of the line, but it's REALLY pricey. If I ever make it big as a singer, I'll send you some. ha ha!

Happy New Year, Cork, to you AND your wife. Pat that tummy if she doesn't mind) and wish the growing junior a HNY for me, too!

I like vodka, too; my favorite drink is a Greyhound (vodka and grapefruit juice). Happy New Year!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY New Year, Cap'n Corky! This year will be GREAT, I can FEEL it from the bottom of my vodka bottle...ha ha!

Seriously, though...I hope this year brings you two & a 1/2 the very best. It's been great getting to know you. Be healthy and safe!

I, too, am a vodka lover - Grey Goose. And dying is preferable to drinking well (rail) Vodka. I don't understand why anyone drinks it.

I had a shot of Smirnoff at a wedding in Kentucky that never really happened and I wasn't a fan. I think I will stick to a glass of champagne once a year, thanks.

birdman, the thing about vodka is that you need two or three drinks/shots, minimum, to see just how wonderful it is.
